Hope homeowners don't need another sales pitch about their roof — they need someone who shows up, explains what's actually wrong, and fixes it right the first time.
Before Roof Repair Smedway was a name on a truck, our foremen were already up on ladders across Hope, ND, figuring out which shingle brands actually hold their seal through a rough season and which ones just look good in a showroom.
Ask to see our Hope, ND license and insurance certificate and you'll have it in your hand before the estimate even starts.
We've replaced enough botched patch jobs from other companies to know exactly what corner-cutting looks like a year later — drywall stains, soft decking, mold nobody can see yet.
Documentation on request, no exceptions.
Storms don't wait for office hours, so our on-call line doesn't either.
Every price is itemized, not eyeballed over the phone.
Faster arrivals because we're already close by.
Most emergency calls we get trace back to a smaller sign that went unnoticed for weeks or months.
Homeowners in Hope often mention they'd noticed something off months before calling — a stain that seemed to fade, a shingle that looked slightly out of place after a storm.
If the water coming off your downspouts looks gritty, the shingle surface is thinner than it should be.
A cupped shingle traps moisture instead of shedding it, which speeds up decking rot underneath.
A gap that lets light through will let rain through eventually.
Stains grow slowly, which is exactly why they get ignored until they spread.
An unexplained bill increase is worth checking against your roof's condition.
Even a small missing section can let in enough water to rot decking in a single storm.
Not every call needs the same fix, so we scope each Hope job individually instead of running everything through one generic quote.
Read through the categories and you'll usually recognize your own roof problem in one of them — that's intentional, since we scope calls the same way we've organized this list.
Downed branches, torn flashing, and wind-lifted shingles all fall under our emergency response scope.
From a few cracked shingles to a complete tear-off, residential jobs get scoped against manufacturer spec, not a rough guess.
Commercial roofs run different membrane systems entirely, and our crews are trained specifically on TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen.
Material selection is part of the replacement conversation, matched to your climate exposure and budget.
Scheduled maintenance catches loose flashing and clogged valleys before the next storm turns them urgent.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general repair crews often miss.
Homeowners tell us the not-knowing is often worse than the repair itself, so we try to remove as much guesswork from the process as we can.
A dispatcher logs your address, roof type, and the problem, then schedules based on urgency.
The inspection covers decking, flashing, and ventilation, not just the obvious visible damage.
Every figure is documented in writing — nothing verbal, nothing vague.
A final walkthrough confirms everything matches the agreed scope.
If you've been burned by a roofing company before, these are the specific things we do differently, not just a promise that we're "better."
Being local means we're rarely the crew still driving in from somewhere else.
Every estimate is itemized so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Our installers follow manufacturer spec on every underlayment overlap and fastener pattern, not general guesswork.
We'd rather send a crew back for a small fix than leave a homeowner unsure.
We're not your insurance company, but we make that part of the process easier.
If a repair solves the problem, that's what we recommend — we don't push a replacement to inflate the invoice.
Our guarantee covers our labor specifically: if the completed work doesn't match the agreed scope, we correct it at no extra cost.
If something unexpected turns up mid-job, like hidden decking damage, we flag it and get your approval before it changes your bill.
We'd rather explain a guarantee in plain language upfront than have a homeowner discover the fine print later.
If your address sits just past our standard Hope radius, dispatch can usually still work something out.
Routes are planned around Hope's actual streets and access points, not a generic radius drawn on a map, which is part of why our arrival windows tend to hold up.
We'd rather confirm coverage on a quick call than have a homeowner assume they're out of range and skip calling entirely.
